New published ACCA opinion

The Army Court yesterday issued a published opinion on an important traffic law issue. United States v. Brooks, __ M.J. ___, No. ARMY 20030150 (A. Ct. Crim. App. Nov. 21, 2006). We'll post an analysis of the opinion tonight.

The only question on Brooks should have been, WHY would a prosecutor want to assimilate non-criminal traffic offenses? Aren't the players in the MilJus system stretched far enough already? Why would they want to become traffic court? Has such largesse become that much of a problem that it drew a published opinion? If it has than, sincerely, thank you Army Court for quashing attempts to court-martial servicemembers for parking in a yellow zone or passing on the right---which I would never do in case an alert TC is hanging on my every word.
