Still more CCA Project Outreach news

I understand that the Navy-Marine Corps Court will hold an en banc oral argument at Georgetown Law on 13 February. Darn -- a day early for a cheap Valentine's Day date!

If the case originated in the Far East, you could explain that technically, it actually is Valentine's Day.

I think this “project outreach” may just be a way to obtain adequate space for an en banc hearing (the current NMCCA “bench” being, of course, the jury box in the RLSO courtroom).
I somewhat jest as the issue is actually a good one, and one relevant and approachable for law students, but you could really have some fun with an en banc project outreach. Why not a carrier, where you could literally infest a ship with JAGs? The crew wouldn’t know what was going on. And since they’d have to pipe on/off all the O-6’s, that would also be a hoot.
Trivia Q: anyone know the flag that is supposed to be flown during an underway court-martial proceeding?

Skull and cross-bones?

It's the navy jack. I think for the duration of the GWOT, the jack (since 2002?) is supposed to be the original "Don't tread on me": an admonition to honor the rights of the accused or an insinuation that he is a serpent?

It's only a general court-martial.
