NIMJ and the National Veterans Legal Services Program file amicus brief in Stevenson

NIMJ and the National Veterans Legal Services Program have filed an amicus brief at the Supremes supporting cert in Stevenson v. United States, No. 07-1397. (Stevenson deals with whether medically retired veterans who don't receive retirement pay from DOD but rather receive compensation from the VA are subject to court-martial jurisdiction. The full cert petition is available here.) The NIMJ/NVLSP amicus is available here.

NIMJ may want to recaption their brief...they list it as appealing from the DC Court of Appeals.

The Court today requested that the Solicitor General respond to the petition for a writ of certiorari.
