Here's an interested North County Times article reporting on efforts by Sgt Jermaine Nelson's civilian defense counsel, Joseph Low, seeking to have charges against Sgt Nelson dropped in the wake of Sgt Ryan Weemer's acquittal by a panel of officer members at Camp Pendleton on Thursday.
The charges against both, as well as their squad leader -- who was acquitted in a MEJA prosecution in U.S. district court last summer -- arise out of an incident during which the three allegedly shot and killed four unarmed detainees during the battle of Fallujah.
