New CGCCA opinion
Here's a new Coast Guard Court opinion that one of our Coastie friends was kind enough to throw over our electronic transom. United States v. Jonsson, Dkt. no. 1285 (C.G. Ct. Crim. App. Jan. 30, 2009). Sorry, but I have insufficient information to tell whether it will be published.

Interesting decision - especially on the value of being able to appeal from a guilty plea that is determined not to be provident.
A few years ago I asked Roy Shannon, then Clerk of the CGCCA, how one could discern whether a decision would be published or not. He told me that, though there's nothing to indicate this on the opinion itself, the practice of the Court was to publish all "authored" opinions, and not publish per curiam opinions. I don't know if that's still the practice today.
